Aquasol Water Soluble Paper provides an excellent barrier used to retain noble gases such as argon and helium within the weld zone during TIG welding of stainless steel and aluminum pipes.

Comprised of sodium carboxyl methyl cellulose and wooden pulp, Aquasol Water Soluble Paper dissolves quickly and completely in most liquids, including water. Its 100% bio-degradable composition leaves no residue behind in the pipeline.

Patented and practical, EZ Purge is a pre-formed, self-adhesive purge dam that enables operators to save time on weld preparation and improve overall project timeliness. EZ Purge has tapered side walls to fit a variety of pipe schedules and its flat design enables equal distribution of gases across the body of the dam.

Uniquely engineered, EZ Purge comes equipped with EPA approved ZAP® (Zero Air Permeability) technology that maximizes gas retention and reduces gas expenditures. This water soluble purge dam is comprised of Aquasol® Water Soluble Paper and is 100% biodegradable and environmentally friendly. EZ Purge rapidly dissolves, leaving behind no residue in the pipeline.

This long-term, reusable bladder system enables operators to satisfy a myriad of purge requirements with one interchangeable solution. The I-Purge comes equipped with several highly advanced features such as its Quick Connect Fittings that snap-in place and allow easy assembly and disassembly of components. The I-Purge also features an extended length, high heat resistant harness that allows the bladders to be placed outside the heat affected zone and can also sufficiently accommodate any pre-heating or high heat applications.

The Opti-Purge Inflatable Purging System increases productivity when welding large diameter pipes 48″ to 84″ (1219 mm to 2133 mm) of various materials including stainless steel, titanium, nickel and several other metals and alloys.

The unique one-piece design of Opti-Purge consists of two outer rings and a hollow connector. The unit is easily and quickly inflated to create an impermeable seal within the pipe wall. The hollow connector dramatically reduces the amount of inert gas needed to purge the weld zone, saving both time and money. The exterior of the hollow connector consists of high heat resistant material that can be exposed to temperatures up to 1004°F (540°C).

The Opti-Purge is the ideal solution for welding large pipe rapidly, requiring minimal preparation for maximum results.

“FOR CLEAN CONTAMINANT-FREE WELDING”

EZ Zone Tape innovatively offers the perfect solution for preventing weld contamination when sealing the root gap between pipes to retain Argon gas. The welding tape is comprised of two adhesive coated aluminum strips on the outside edges, with an adhesive-free center “Zone.”

The unique design of the aluminum welding tape allows the edges to stick to the area surrounding the root gap on stainless steel and aluminum pipes with the adhesive-free “zone” being placed over the root gap. The adhesive portion of EZ Zone Tape is then prevented from ever coming into contact with the pipe as it is being welded, allowing for a clean and contaminant-free weld.

The EZ Zone’s 3 mil (75 micron) foil can conform to any irregular surface and is able to withstand temperatures up to 500°F (260°C).

EZ Zone Tape allows a welder to effectively prevent contamination in the weld joint and increase the number of pure finished welds.

“THE ALL PURPOSE SOLUTION”

EZ Tape® is a traditional, fully coated aluminum tape that can be used to seal root gaps by controlling the release of gas during purging and to seal pipe ends for transporting.

EZ Tape has many other conventional uses in the field such as sealing ducts for heating, air conditioning and refrigeration, and acting as an excellent vapor barrier. The soft foil conforms easily to a variety of irregular surfaces.

The aluminum coated adhesive is able to withstand temperatures of up to 500°F (260°C) and is equally adaptable for cold weather uses with a minimum application temperature of just 10°F (-12.5°C). Both halogen and chlorofluorocarbon free, EZ Tape promotes a safer work environment.

Fiback Fiberglass Weld Backing Tape is an innovative substitute for traditional back purging methods that provides protection to the backside of the weld environment and ensures a high quality finish. Fiback is flexible, heat resistant, and halogen and fluorocarbon-free, enabling it to be a complete solution for plate, sheet and pipe welding needs.

This welding tape is composed of two adhesive areas around the outside edges with a center fiberglass strip, heat resistant up to 1,022°F (550°C) and withstanding applications up to 600 amps.

Suitable for SMAW (stick), TIG, and MIG Welding processes, Fiback can conform to various shapes making it superior to more rigid solutions that develop stress points between pieces and are prone to cracking and breaking over time.

Liquifilm®

WATER SOLUBLE PURGE

“THE TRANSPARENT & FLEXIBLE PURGE GAS BARRIER FOR TIG WELDING”

Liquifilm is a completely biodegradable, water soluble purge film that can be used as a purge gas barrier during TIG welding and is a highly effective alternative when total purging is impractical or too costly. Flexible and robust, Liquifilm can be used on stainless, duplex, and chromium steels as well as titanium alloys.

Available in 1 x 20 meter rolls center-folded or wound on a core, this transparent film can be cut to the desired size for any pipe diameter. Liquifilm can be punctured for gas inlets and outlets with little risk of tearing and has high-force resistance enabling the weld area to maintain a greater level of positive pressure.

Liquifilm can be placed in close proximity to the weld zone, then dissolved with hot or cold water or steam that is introduced through the pipe. Less inert gas will be used, ultimately leading to lower costs for the overall welding operation. An impenetrable purge barrier, Liquifilm is suitable for nuclear, aerospace, and other applications.

SoluShim Water Soluble Alignment Sticks are an innovative solution for maintaining precise gaps on plates, pipes, and flanges as required by AWS codes D1.1 – D1.6, and API 1101 pipe codes. When SoluShim is placed between a gap, it enables consistent pipe and seam spacing, enhancing the operator’s overall efficiency.

The conventional method of forming a root gap involves the use of filler rods. Besides being non-uniform in size and thickness, these welding rods are composed of foreign metals that are incompatible with the base metals being welded.

Removal of these rods is a cumbersome process and typically involves mechanical grinding or torch cutting, both of which are costly and labor intensive and can leave behind trace elements that contaminate the welding area.

Comprised of EPA-approved Aquasol® Water Soluble Board, SoluShim is compatible with any metal and instantly begins to dissolve when introduced to water. This allows the sticks to be effortlessly removed from the welding fit up, leaving behind no residue that could compromise the weld quality. Compared to metal rods, SoluShim is the superior choice for maintaining precise, even gaps throughout the weld fit-up.
